The 3D Buddha Jeremiah

Next week is going to be great. We’re hooking up with Jeremiah, an amazing 3D artist, to work on our companies new identity and one of our products. Everyone in the business calls him the Buddha of 3D, I just can’t wait to see what he comes up with.
So our new product is really going to be a fashion accessory, a sort of first aid fashion package with everything a model needs in one small container. I’ll be updating you all as much as I can on it’s progress and link you to our site when it’s done. For now though if you have any ideas of what should be included in the small package drop me a comment or email and let me know!

Fashionable Doll Models

Hi guys, I haven’t updated my blog as often as I would like but personal matters came up that needed my attention so I really couldn’t come on and play for a while. I promise I’ll catch up and also post some beauty/fashion tips as I have received a few emails regarding those.
Now how many of you at one point while growing up, would dress up little toy dolls? Almost all girls did, I think Philip did while growing up too lol. Well I get to do it every month or so at least once, but these are human sized model dolls.
We have 2 sessions a month and I help with makeup, picking out props if any and then of course, taking the pictures. So this is one taken not so long ago, also note none of this was manipulated or edited in any way other than to simply render the image in high quality.
I really want to mention last nights party but I think I have to dedicate an entire post for that, all I can say is that it was amazing, one of the best I have ever been to, more on that later!

Secrets In New York City

This week is such a busy one all of a sudden & I have so much work, I really need a back rub, anyone?
Ok so I have been asked for more Fashion or even Photography related posts so I’ll start off with a light weight Fashion/Photography post. Recently we had a Photo shoot, untitled, so I’ll title it “Secrets in NYC”. It was for a series of articles, ranging from what to wear on the go, to what to wear at home in order to look good & feel comfortable at the same time. Of course I had to read these articles, and they were great.
I’ll remember to link you to the magazine’s website in question when the next issues comes out, one of my shots was featured on the front cover, as always.
I learned a lot from doing this particular shoot, some I want to share with you guys.
We had fun regardless of all the little mishaps which I’m accustomed to anyway, great photos, great response from the model, great day.

Models & Weekends

Why do people think of flashy nightclubs, swanky bars or fashion shows when you refer to models enjoying their weekend? When you think about it all that is part of a models every day life, not just the weekends right?
So why would one do that every day of the week, even days off? All my friends love to just do something new every weekend, hang out somewhere we can just talk and have some fun. Yesterday we took the subway and boy did we have fun! We went to Riccardo’s and we all had smoothies then a couple of us headed to play some pool at a friends place, it’s an ordinary weekend. Sometimes we get club opening invitations and we go, but it’s not something that we love to do, it’s more mandatory than anything, expected of us to show up.
So next time any of you guys want to take a model out on a weekend date, think simple, calm, fun and somewhat thoughtful . Sure this does not apply to all personalities, but I can safely say it does for most! Ok enough randomness, ill post something more serious and work related next I just get carried away sometimes because this is fun! ![]()

Cinnamon & Snickers

Ok so people are always asking about my two babies! I’m a dog lover, have been since I was a child. I have 2 of the most adorable Yorkies ever, and they really are special.
I must admit I pamper them way too much, fashionable doggie clothes, birthday cakes, gifts all the time and I even got them little paw bracelets!
Cinnamon and Snickers are their names, and as most of my friends know, they’re trouble makers!
It’s amazing being a dog owner, everyday is an adventure with them as they’re always up to something, whether it’s plotting an invasion on me in the morning when my alarm goes off or attempting to find a way into the dog food cabinet!
I have thousands of random photos of them both doing the most random things. This is one of my favorite; it’s Snickers with a bad hair day! Adorable, just makes me want to cuddle them all day ![]()

Urban Life

I always worry about what people are going to say at me taking their picture, sometimes I get smiles, frowns, interested or confused looks, sometimes I get that grumpy look which just screams out ‘leave me alone’. I took a picture a few days ago, and i keep going back to it. I was on my way to Starbucks after hanging out with Lanna and I saw him walking towards me smoking his cigarette. I stopped and just had to life the camera before going ahead and taking the photo, a sort of warning that I am about to snap a photo of whoever it’s aiming at, usually I can tell if they don’t want it taken or really mind. This guy just stared blankly at me as I took maybe 5 as he got closer. He was not a homeless person or anything, by the looks of his pants and shoes, he looked decently dressed. It’s just his eyes and how blank they were, like he did not have a care in the world? Don’t you get that by looking at this? Maybe not, oh and today is such a beautiful day, I just had to share that with everyone!
I could not think of any better title, sorry if it was somewhat misleading as to what this blog post would contain.

T-Shirts, Shorts & Horoscopes

Ok, so tell me this, how many of you have watched, or still watch fashion runway shows and think, there’s noway I would every wear that, let alone buy it! Plenty of you I’m sure, I think that even some of my friends (the models) reading this will agree, somethings are just for runway decor, not for shops or a wardrobe! So where is the hype? Why does this industry pump millions into clothes every season? It’s all about ideas, trends and creativity.
If you can watch a fashion show and really focus, you not only start to see the bigger picture but fall in love with certain designers for their own. So from now on, I’m going to note some trends in posts here and there, things I notice in the fashion industry that might not have made it into all the stores yet but eventually will. This is me guessing though, so please bare that in mind and don’t blame me if a $3,000 shopping spree of yours doesn’t hit home next season!!
T-shirts are in, not for long though so if you have not already, grab some and get creative. They scream out hip and trendy with the right pants/shorts/skirt. You should also look for a pair of nice light wash skinny jeans! You can never go wrong with those, they might cost you a little but are worth every penny!
If you live in New York, or any big city, you don’t even have to live in a big city really but doc martins are a must! You can wear them with shorts, micro shirts, a short skirt or even rolled up baggy jeans! They are really cute and will be making catwalks more often very soon!
I almost forgot, something I have been noticing more often are those hot micro shorts. They’re mostly word with long tshirts/shirts or mini dresses to give that sexy revealing look. Very posh and classy, something I will be experimenting with soon before it goes out of fashion for this season!
Ok & the horoscope part, I so forgot about it! I will add little daily horoscope snippets directed at friends. These are not mine, I get them from wherever I find them online. I’m starting off with none other than, yes of course, Mike! He’s a Cancerian so here goes;
For September 25: Your intentions are so good. You really want to reach out and pull someone out of a mess, and are willing to make financial sacrifices (not to mention emotional ones) to do it. But the timing is all wrong for this. As tough as it is and as guilty as you feel (when don’t you?) you must step back from the abyss that another has created for him or herself. Here’s the deal: If you create a soft landing for this person, he or she will do the same sort of thing again - and probably expect a bailout or helping hand from you. Don’t even get this party started because it may never end. Get the picture? You don’t need to play Jesus Christ Superstar today.

Questions Photo Shoot
Filed Under (Creative Fashion, Photography Tips, models, spontaneous fashion) by Alexis on 24-09-2008
Tagged Under : Diesel Model, Photography Tips
A few new projects done with this week, my favorite being the Questions shoot for a Diesel Ad. It’s always
great to work with their team, professional and real fun to work with. One of the 4 models in the shoot was Angel, a real sweetie to work with. After maybe 30 minutes we decided to go outside for some random spontaneous shots. She’s natural in front of the camera, she was wearing some Diesel jeans but not all the shots had to focus on the brand which was fun. I even threw in a couple extra shots for her personal portfolio because we really got along well! Super shoot!
Someone asked me for a quick tip about taking Spontaneous photos. Well, I always say that it depends on the setting you’re in. Sometimes you just have to point your camera where ever you think action is likely to happen and then keep your viewfinder near your eye and your finger over the shutter button so you’re be ready for that perfect moment. Don’t forget to use your camera’s burst mode to get a series of pictures within seconds of each other so you are sure to capture those perfect shots if not that then at least one perfect photo.
Sometimes when a subject has no idea you’re taking a photo, it’s best to step in close or use your camera’s zoom to emphasize what is important and exclude the rest. So fill the camera’s viewfinder or LCD display with your subject to create pictures with greater impact you also have to blend in so that your subjects don’t get self-conscious or realize you’re photographing them. Try shooting some images with your camera at waist level to avoid drawing attention to it and work on from that, it’s harder but all it takes is a little practice.

Pink Shoes & Shirt
Filed Under (Creative Fashion, candid fashion, friends, spontaneous fashion) by Alexis on 23-09-2008

Ok, so Mike said to do more fashion related posts and less Mike related posts, but I just can’t help it! He took me, Summer and Tess out shopping earlier and boy is he hard to please. Nothing we got he liked, he would just shrug, grunt, or grin and laugh hysterically, then go, it’s ok! He’s evil, he’s pure evil. But that’s what we love about him, unlike most guys Mike tells you if you look bad in something which we rarely do but it’s good to have a guy who at least dresses nicely and has some taste in fashion.

So I live relatively close to Mike, and told him how I want to run more, so he said I should go for a jog in the mornings with him, so when we were out I had him pick out some running shoes for me, and boy does he know how to pick them, I took the picture maybe 40minutes ago and im still wearing them, they’re so comfortable and light! I would have never picked something like this, but they look nice too. Something I realized about Mike, again, unlike most guys, he never looks at the price tag of things, he just sees something he likes and says this is it, so I ended up paying more than I usually do for running shoes. Oh well, at least I’m happy with them, they almost look like soccer shoes, but I still love them.

Oh and while I’m posting something not so related to anything in particular, the night we went out to Club VIP, we were in 2 cars and had three friends meet us there, I think there was about 12 of us, at least 15 by the end of the night so i guess some of us multiplied. Here are pictures of Philip, Tess and some friends caught in the back. Mike was driving beside Philip but you know Mike, he hates having his photo taken, thanks phil for sending me the pix! Oh and that pink shirt Philip is wearing, I think it’s actually Mikes! That is one rumor we need to get straightened out lol!

Fashion Fall-Winter 2008

So some say goodbye to the Summer of 2008, most of us in the industry have already begun welcoming not only the Fall/Winter but also Summer of 2009! So I’ll quickly note what colors are still in for this fall/winter, what some of the trendy accessories are making the rounds, bags and hats, yes hats, for men though not us ladies!
Ok so as for colors, it’s no secret, have a look on the diagram below and you pretty much get the idea, I think for men though, it’s a more earthy feel to the color base, shades of browns and dark olive greens.
The Bandee: a simple yet convincing solution for carrying small everyday items. I have one, so do most of the girls I know here, some guys too, it’s just a great thing to have when you don’t want to run around with a bag! Oh and speaking of bags, ladies, go get the super cute Laptop Bag LLOYD | Peppermint White Rose I know Summer wants to order one! FOr more ideas of what’s hot when it comes to bags, check out Gretchen’s collection. Oh! And shopping bags just got hotter, take a look at what Baggu are offering, they’re really cute and functional and come in so many different colors and sizes!
Now tights are in (More of an Autumn/Winter trend) and there’s a wide variety of patterned tights being shown on the catwalk this season, and the more outrageous the better. D&G showed us tartan tights which were absolutely stunning, Anna Sui, Chanel, Emma Cook, Rodnik, Philosophy, Paul Smith and Emporio Armani introduced the trend for pattern, from little polka dots, to swirly patterns and leafy designs, so don’t be afraid to experiment with tights, you can’t go wrong with what’s out there!
For those of you men in NYC, visit Still Life, go down there have them pick you out a couple of nice hats, to make it easier go down there in something you usually dress in, that way it helps them get a sense of your own style. Hats have been in style for a while and they’re a hot accessory to have.

Asian Street Fashion

Chien in the jean shorts was arriving at work, so was Heather (in blue). Caught them both in the parking lots. Lynda was leaving for lunch when I took her photo.
That’s not what i’m blogging about, so recently I have been hanging out with my newest best guy friend. He’s adorable and everyone of my friends who has met him thinks so too, he’s just a likable person. A likable person with a think for Asian girls! Now He claims it’s not really a thing, but it really is! We have a ton of beautiful Asian models, Japanese, Chinese and even Thai, and he is into them, I know because I can so read his body language around them.
So all day today, I have been running in and out of photo shoots, I even went across town to Studio14 for a shoot, I know almost everyone there and every time I met a friend that was Asian I asked to take their picture, they were used to it. They struck a pose and I took a photo, I think I took 5 but for some reason can only find 3. So here are models before and after work, they’re beautiful no matter what and all Asian!
Funny how sometimes the newest acquaintances can be the greatest support, and turn out to be amazing friends. - random
I will txt msg this post to Mike and to the 3 girls (chien/lynda/heather) so they can all discuss whatever here! He’s been down lately and he needs cheering up so i’m here to help!
(PS. Mike, Heather has a black belt in Taekwondo so you’re not the only one who can throw a punch now!!)

The 18 year old aspiring designer Glyn always brings us some pretty funky pieces for our freestyle photo sessions.
Earlier she brought in these super cute pants that I had to share on here.
Most of this she makes herself, everything from design to sewing to the modeling part.
She’s passionate and I love her designs.
Oh and I found this random photo on my camera. I think Mike took it? I could not stop laughing when I saw this. I remember asking him what he was doing playing with my camera yesterday before going out and he explains that he was bored so he ‘fiddled’ with it. The ripped jeans must have been bothering him, too cute. For a guy though, he has an amazing sense of style, I love his trendy/casual style with that clean cut bad boy look I seen in so many models, but just natural. Claire saw the boot picture and started to drool? A boot? Mike you have some powerful mojo going on there for you.

So I was dropping off some photographs today when I spotted the Bubble man. We call him that because he’s always around these parts, blogging bubbles! I had to get in a picture, he’s always dressed in bright red, orange or yellow or green, and the socks/sneakers, priceless!
He sells bubble blowers, he calls them that! It’s so funny to watch him run after tourists to show them his cool bubble blower. I think i’ll buy one tomorrow if I see him and post a picture of it, of the bubble blower! Sorry, i’m in a silly mood, had a great day so I’ll update this with more information tomorrow!

Who knew, three very different people meeting in a new city, now great friends. It’s such a great feeling.
I’m having an amazing time with two friends that are slowly becoming the only people I hang out with, they’re very different but both so fun to be with. Earlier, me and Brian were to meet up with Mike over at his place and then go out for a bite to eat, Brian was fashionably late as usual, and he found me and Mike sitting on the windowsill waiting for him!
He said he wanted the camera and Mike dropped mine down to him!!! I almost jumped after it but Brian caught it, so was going to kill them both. He took a picture and it turned out really good. It’s so cute my BF just gave it a look a minute ago asking who that ‘chump’ is! I guess I have some explaining to do, but that photo is just worth it. Brian, Mikey, thank you both so much for making my days brighter, you have both become special friends in almost no time at all!
